The day started off well enough...some cleaning, a little catchup work for the job, and some bones at Ginny's in the earlier evening. Having returned home around 9:30 in the PM, I was quite ready to settle in for two nice episodes of the Simpsons. Unfortunately, that was preempted by an hour-long attempt by FOX to cash in on the recent passing of Lady Bird Johnson. I have nothing but admiration for the woman (partly because I know something of her work, and partly because society expects as much of me), but I say without shame that I would have quite preferred the Simpsons, even though the possibility that I've seen both episodes more than once before was rather high. As it was, I turned elsewhere for entertainment.

With a discussion on livejournal fresh in my thoughts, I turned my attention to the laptop. Yes!...fate had conspired to finally draw my interest to joining my community of friends in wasting our mutual time with inane text. I made this account, found Dale's page, and proceeded to farm his friend's list for people I know, or think I should know. It was in doing this that I found myself glancing over Robert's friends list, and to my surprise I discovered that, apparently though heretofore unknowingly, we know the same individual: Eddie Minor. For various reasons, this is rather funny for me.

Eddie and I went to the same high school, and though we weren't good friends, we hung out from time to time. We become better friends in college, having a lot of mutual friends and hanging out in the same drinking crowd. I haven't gotten to see much of him, as he joined the army, did a stint in Korea, and is now in Iraq (though I did see him this past New Years). All this is pertinent, because although I love the guy, Ed is without a doubt and with no understatement the weirdest person I have ever meet, or likely will. So of course, you see, it was rather funny to discover that he is or was a friend of Robert's...
